Burial Ritual’s debut full-length release, "Tower of Silence" was recorded with Joel Wanasek of JTW Recording Studio and self-released in 2009. The album was widely hailed by critics and received positive reviews across the board. The band received praise as a highly sought after death metal band that gave a nostalgic feel to that of an earlier era in death metal. Burial Ritual strays from the saturation of technical death metal to bring listeners a much-needed fan favorite throwback to earlier years. It was the success of "Tower of Silence" that allowed the band to begin traveling the United States with their first nationwide tour in 2010 which also kept them on road in 2011.
In 2012, Burial Ritual partnered up with JTW Recording Studios again for their sophomore release, "Exterminating the Masses". This release allowed the band to further develop their lyrical content whereas this transition would deviate from the typical blood and gore infested themes to those of societal horrors, corruption and conspiracy. The sophomore release was praised for it’s production values and song structuring which prevailed positive acclaim by critics and fans. The band followed up with subsequent touring in 2012 and 2013 in support of “Exterminating the Masses”. This milestone marked a new era for Burial Ritual and ripened their evolution.
After completing live and promotional efforts for the sophomore release, the band then hit the studio to work on what would become their most accomplished album to date. Released in 2015, “Genocidal Theory” brought the bands new evolutionary path to fruition when Burial Ritual joined forces with Chris Wisco of Belle City Sound (Origin, Gorgasm, Jungle Rot). The production on “Genocidal Theory” gave a new and distinct sound that was matched with the intensity the band was aiming to portray. The album includes guest vocals from Shaun LaCanne of Putrid Pile on the title track, proving to be a great addition to an already impressive track listing.
With the release of “Genocidal Theory”, Burial Ritual took their live performances to the next level in order to match the intensity and acclaim the album was receiving. Fans took note to the live performances as the bands fan base and overall growth steadily increased giving the band a strong foothold in the genre. In 2015, the band hit the road in support of the latest release with plans already in place to keep touring in 2016 including a slot in this year’s Las Vegas Deathfest.
Burial Ritual’s hard work and quickly developing presence caught the attention of the well-known Extreme Management Group based in New York. This partnership gave Burial Ritual a home on a highly sought after roster including bands like Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Origin, Cryptopsy, Decrepit Birth, Rings of Saturn and many more.
